Hey Everyone! 

September is National Sewing Month!  I want you to get excited about sewing!  If you need some motivation, I'm hosting a fun challenge running in the month of September.

Maybe your machine is still in the box, or maybe you haven't had motivation to sew lately, here's a great reason to break out the tools!

Katie's Sewing Challenge

All you have to do is sew up a top and post a picture of you wearing it on Instagram with the hashtag #sewcutebykatie.  This will be your official entry into a drawing to win a $50 gift card to my store! 

It would be awesome if you use a commercial pattern!  If you're sewing for someone else, that's okay, too! Get a photo of them wearing it and share the pattern used.  

Prize: $50 Gift Card

Yes, you do need an Instagram account and it has to be set to public, or we won't be able to see it!  Entries must be dated in the month of September.  The gift card will be redeemable at my website or storefront location.

Katie's Sewing Club  

Not quite sure where to start or how to read a sewing pattern?  Check out my sewing club!  It's a monthly membership at $15 per month, or join for a year and only pay for 11 months.

Our pattern of the month is a woman's top: Simplicity 8601.  I teach you how to read the pattern cover, pattern instructions, determine how much fabric to buy, tips and tricks, etc. 

Once you join the group, you have access to previous projects.  So far, we've completed a tote bag, a kimono (another beautiful women's top), and drawstring pants. What's great about the group is that the video instructions will always be available for you to review at your own convenience.  Plus, I'm available to the group for help!
