Let's make a scrappy pillow using leftover fabric from all the masks we've made!
You'll love this quilt-as-you-go sewing project.
Did you join in on sewing hundreds of face masks for friends, family, neighbors and community?
I've accumulated so many scrap pieces from sewing face masks. Instead of letting them go to waste, I've been demonstrating multiple ways to use up these memorable scraps. I've been working on fun scrappy projects like this pillow project tutorial that I'll walk you through. It's a quilt as you go project and sure to be fun!

Supplies & Suggestions
Supplies you will need:
- Sewing machine
- Rotary Cutter/Mat
- Quilting Ruler (for straight edge cutting)
- Thread
- 11 or 12 pieces of fabric strips at 2.25 in. wide and at least 13 in. long.
- 13.5 in. x 22 in. polar fleece or batting (optional)
- 12-14 in. Invisible Zipper
- 12 in.x20 in. pillow insert - https://amzn.to/3rpbaQk
Sew with a 1/4 inch seam allowance.
If your fabric strips aren't long enough, you can sew them together on the short side to achieve the desired length. It's ok if your strips are more narrow or wider, it will simply change how many strips you need. I walk you through sewing one side of your scrappy pillow in the video.
Jump straight to how to insert the invisible zipper here.
